PSB Bio Fertilizer Water Soluble Formulation

PSB Water Soluble contains Bacillus megaterium & Bacillus Polymyxa bacteria which have attracted the attention of agriculturists as soil inoculums to improve the plant growth and yield. When phosphate solubilising bacteria is used with rock phosphate, it can save about 50% of the crop requirement of phosphatic fertilizer. The use of phosphate solubilising bacteria as inoculants increases Phosphorus uptake by plants. The phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) which solubilizes the inorganic soil phosphates of calcium and iron through production of several organic acids, hydroxyl and carboxyl groups, and chelating them to the bound phosphates and the available calcium.

Mechanism of Action

  • PSB (phosphate solubilising bacteria) produces soluble phosphate in range of 30 to 40 kg/ha. Whenever phosphoric fertilizers are applied in soil its large quantity gets fixed as Tri-Calcium Phosphate.
  • As it is water insoluble, it becomes unavailable to crops. Due to phosphate solubilizing bacteria soil microorganisms having inherent capacity to dissolve part of this fixed phosphorus, makes it available to the crops.
  • This enables converting insoluble phosphate compound in soluble form by secreting certain organic acids.
